• The European Commission will take the German government to the European Court in Luxembourg if the country goes ahead with plans to tax foreign hauliers, says the EC director for Inland Transport, Rodo!los Papaioannou.
The Commission is considering a territorial road tax system for hauliers, so they pay for each country they visit — but it opposes Germany's plan to introduce its system early next year.
