Wincanton Distribution ,rvices' Transport Division s won a contract with Shell I UK to provide 10
troleum distribution tankers. Some of them will be painted the Shell livery: the first ire contracted-out vehicles II have used the oil giant's lours.
Wincanton will use two 17me rigids, a 24-tonne rigid, ree 30-tonne rigids and four -tonne artics to distribute [ell products from Shellhaven, rthampton and Hamble, puthampton. All will be ERFsed and will have bottomiding equipment.
Alastair Elder, managing ector of WDS's Transport vision, says he is very :ased to be operating the vehicles in the Shell livery; "It will present the Shell image around the country in a wider sphere, and in terms of marketing everyone will know Wincanton is in the petroleum distribution business."
▪ WDS has welcomed Amoco UK's decision to sell its refining and petroleum marketing operations.
WDS has a five-year/90vehicle contract as sole distributor in a five-year deal and Elder says: "A new owner might expand the operation."
