Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two more companies have joined the Brewer & Turnbull franchise network. Middlesbrough firm Richardsons Removals has now signed up, and J Dodd Removals of Ashford, Kent will start its franchise operation on 6 November.

Dodd has been established for 43 years in Kent and holds an operating licence for five vehicles, but owner John Hopkins says the year has been so bad for removals firms that he is currently running only three. "The rises in interest rates have made it a really hard slog," he says. "We have alse had to reduce the number of employees to five."

Dodd will start the operatio with one vehicle in Brewer & Turnbull livery, and Hopkins i looking forward to the challenge. "As a family company there is no way we could hay( set up a nationwide operation, he says. "This franchise will give us the opportunity to be part of one."
