• In the first six months of this year a total of 27,117 light and heavy commercial vehicles were recalled in 14 campaigns.
The recall system operates under a voluntary code of practice in which all owners are contacted individually by the manufacturer or importer.
In some instances notification may not be received where the launch date coincides with the sale of a vehicle or a change of address.
Anyone in doubt about a vehicle should contact the customer service department of the manufacturer or importer concerned. Recalls have included the Leyland Daf 95 Series, which has shown spontaneous starting problems.
