• Bedford is putting the 1.4litre engine, used in the new Cavalier, into the Astravan and Astramax models, to replace the 1.3 unit.
The new engine features lighter pistons and connecting rods, and a redesigned crankshaft and camshaft. Revamped inlet and exhaust manifolds are said to increase its efficiency.
