RALPH Roberts is leaving his post as regional chairman, Wales and the North Region National Bus Company to become deputy chairman of Greater Manchester Transport, in good time for deregulation.
GMT's director-general David Graham says: "Mr Roberts will bring valuable expertise to our organisation, especially with the very substantial changes which can he expected in the industry over the coming months. Of particular interest to us is his experience in the commercial operation of buses.'' Roberts' experience is wide. He was acting director-general, West Yorkshire VIE, and he started work in the bus industry in 1949.
