AST week at Leeds, the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners granted an application by Halifax Corporation and Halifax Joint Omnibus Committee to raise their adult fares to a minimum of 3d.

Corporation sought to raise their 2-1d. fares by fd. and certain other fares by Id. and Joint Omnibus Committee's application was to raise 2Id. fares and 3d. fares by id. in each case. The new proposals would be expected to 'yield £13,587 in a full year for Halifax

Passenger Transport Undertaking, and C6,000 in the case of the Joint Omnibus Committee.

There was a written objection to the application by the Joint Omnibus Committee by Elland Urban District Council and Major F. S. Eastwood, the chairman of the Commissioners, said he noted the company had refused details of wage and salary increase, which they claimed led to the proposed fare rise, after having been asked for them by Elland U.D.C.
