haulage concern was granted a B licence by the East Midland Licensing Authority in Lincoln on Tuesday, enabling them to carry goods for Associated British Maltsters, Ltd„ Newark, and any of its 28 wholly owned subsidiaries, The concern, Hodgkinson Transport, operated by Mr. L. A. Wilson, applied for licences in respect of six lorries and five trailers. The only objector to appear was British Railways.
Before being granted the licence, Mr. Wilson was asked to give an undertaking that he would not apply for any A licences for the A.B.M. company.
The group transport officer of A.B.M., Mr. G. A. Haworth, said it was his job to rationalize his firm's transport. The company had 112 vehicles under C licence. It was the intention of the company to cut down longer-distance, journeys of company-owned vehicles and to let Mr. Wilson carry them out in the future:
