keep its business on the road after thieves stole its Mercedes skip wagon and then returned a week later and drove off with a hired replacement. The Chepstow-based company's only other vehicle is still off the road after being involved in an accident six weeks ago. "We've been in business 22 years and never claimed on insurance before," says Meryl Williams, joint owner with her husband. "We just can't believe how unlucky we've been."

Both vehicles stolen from the lorry park in Chepstow were Mercedes 1617 skip trucks. The first was owned by Woodstock, registration number D562 MOE, chassis number 617117252, engine number 36695220036143. It was taken during the night of 7 October.

The second was hired from DJS of Bristol and was stolen exactly a week later. Its registration number is G948 VOD, chassis number 61711725449358, and engine number 36695220944916.
