la o coincide with an

exhibition at the Transport Museum in London's Covent Garden, London Transport has published A Journey Through Time by Sheila Taylor, a pictorial history from 1880 to 1965.

In large hardback format the book contains a series of fine photographs of LT's rolling stock, including buses and underground trains, as well as its staff and stations. Many evoke the war years when, among their routine tasks, 12,000 members of LT staff — men included — were knitting for the troops.

The Hawk has two copies of this tribute to London's finest to give away to the readers who can tell him

the name of the bus inspector's character in the hit TV series, On the Buses. Answers on a postcard by Friday 27 November.

For those not lucky enough to win a copy it is available from Laurence King Publishing in London at £16.95.
