• P&O ferry operator Pandoro is adding 70 new 13.6m curtainsiders to its 2,900-strong trailer fleet and is having 50 of its 12.2m trailers stretched to 13.6m.
Peterborough-based Lawrence David has boosted production by using pre-fabricated front and rear jigged extensions, The new trailers use RO-R tandem-axled bogies grossing 22 tonnes; with three-axled units they offer good load latitude at 38 tonnes.
To overcome any turning circle problems and reduce tyre scrub Pandora has specified selfsteering on the rearmost Rockwell axles.
