TRUCK THEFTS . . . TAKE A TIP • Provincial Insurance has published a guide to vehicle security aimed specifically at hauliers. The 23-page booklet, by Jim Maple, covers all aspects of guarding trucks against thefts, including door, window and bulkhead security, ignition immobilisers, steering locks and wheel clamps. It deals with latest innovations such as ultrasonic detectors, panic buttons and battery alarms.

N EW LOOK VBRA YEARBOOK • The Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association's annual membership directory has been superceded by a new-look yearbook, the 1987-88 version of which is now available from its Gildersome, Leeds office, priced £15 to members and £20 to non-members.

In addition to the myriad of details relating to its membership and trade suppliers, the publication also contains a copy of the VBRA's Code of Practice, drawn up in consulta tion with the Office of Fair Trading.

It includes up-to-date details of agreed wages in England and Scotland for related trades in the vehicle-building industry, guidelines on the purchase of major bodyshop equipment and also general advice on workshop layout.
