• Pyrene Chemical Services has chosen Tankfreight to transport its hazardous chemicals to customers around Britain, in an agreement worth almost £150000.
Tankfreight will provide a Volvo FL7 tractor and trailer in Pyrene livery, together with a driver and maintenance for the vehicle over the three years of the contract. The vehicle will operate from Tankfreight's Oldbury depot, and will distribute from Pyrene's West Midlands distribution centre. O NFC subsidiary Tankfreight is planning a £1.4 million investment in computer technology to control all aspects of its fleet of over 1,000 tankers. A Unisys 2200/203, computer based at the company's head office in Harrogate, will be linked to terminals and video screens at Tankfreight depots and workshops around the country. The system will control tanker and cargo scheduling, crew administration and rostering, and all financial and accounting details.
