Mr Bruce, who produced a thesis on bus and pedestrian shipping precincts for his Master of Philosophy degree, joined National Bus in 1970 as an assistant economist in the planning and development department.

He moves to his new job from Oxford where he is an assistant planning officer. "

Cravens Homalloy (Sheffield) Ltd have appointed Geoffrey Fox as their Taskold sales specialist. Les Caine becomes responsible for the company's internal sales administration and Edwin Jones becomes sales manager for containers.

Harry Larry is the new branch manager at Dagenham for Eurofleet Rentals. He moves from Cravens Industries where he was a sales executive.

European Ferries have announced new appointments following their acquisition or the Felixstowe docks. Geoffrey Parker becomes managing director of the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company.

Mr Parker has been in charge of operations at the company since the acquisition of the port in April. He also continues his job as managing director of the Felixstowe and Irish Sea services of Townsend Thoresen and the Transport Ferry Service.

General manager of the port is George Blackhall who has been with Felixstowe since 1967.
