Lyle Transport. He succeeds Jim Scott who moves to become joint managing director of Garton and Sons and a director of Manbre and Garton.
The moves follow Tate and Lyle's acquisition of Manbre and Garton.
Mr Runge, 32, joined Tate and Lyle 10 years ago as a shift manager at the Thames refinery. He is a former general manager of TLT Distribution.
Mike Kelly becomes TLT Distribution general manager moving from his post as marketing manager and Ted Hoar moves to become marketing manager at TLTD from his job as sales executive.
Pickfords Removals have appointed one of their youngest managers to their Banbury branch. He is 20-year-old Roger Payton. Mr Payton was trained in the Scottish area as an assistant. Crane Fruehauf director Angus Murray is to be their new deputy chairman. Mr Murray, 57, has been the chairman of the Redman Heenan International Company for four years.
He is also a director of Hambros Industrial Management and Sandvik Ltd. Mr Murray is chairman of Newall Machine Tools.
On the passenger front, Trevor Shears is the new company secretary for the East Yorkshire Motor Services company from December 1.
He moves to his new job from the Northern General group where he is at present assistant company secretary. He joined the industry from a firm of accountants in 1974.
Crosville Motor Services have appointed David Bruce as their new assistant traffic manager (marketing). He takes up his new job in December.
Mr Bruce, who produced a thesis on bus and pedestrian shipping precincts for his Master of Philosophy degree, joined National Bus in 1970 as an assistant economist in the planning and development department.
He moves to his new job from Oxford where he is an assistant planning officer. "
Cravens Homalloy (Sheffield) Ltd have appointed Geoffrey Fox as their Taskold sales specialist. Les Caine becomes responsible for the company's internal sales administration and Edwin Jones becomes sales manager for containers.
Harry Larry is the new branch manager at Dagenham for Eurofleet Rentals. He moves from Cravens Industries where he was a sales executive.
European Ferries have announced new appointments following their acquisition or the Felixstowe docks. Geoffrey Parker becomes managing director of the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company.
Mr Parker has been in charge of operations at the company since the acquisition of the port in April. He also continues his job as managing director of the Felixstowe and Irish Sea services of Townsend Thoresen and the Transport Ferry Service.
General manager of the port is George Blackhall who has been with Felixstowe since 1967.
