MR. B. C. SPREADBURY has been appointed South Wales district manager of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co.. Ltd.
MR. JOHN SISSON has been appointed assistant export manager of the India Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. In his place, MR. E. B. HALL has been appointed Norwich acting district manager.
CLLR. A. Praartscii.t, and CLLR. W. BRIDGE are new members of the Yorkshire Transport Users' Consultative Committee. Their first term of office having expired, the committee have been reappointed to serve until September 30, 1957.
MR. S. C. RICKARD, superintendent of the Exeter depot of British Road Services, has completed 50 years' service since joining Chaplin and Co. in 1904, in which time he has served under six different managers. He has been made a presentation by MR. A. J. WRIGHT, south-western divisional manager of B.R.S.

MR, J. E. HANSON has been appointed an additional director of Oswald Tillotson, Ltd.
PROP. S. J. DAVIES, D.Sc., Ph.D., Wh.Ex.. chairman of the Automobile Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers for the 1953-54 session, has been appointed Dean of the Military College of Science.
MR. V. W. PILKINGTON and DR. C. G. WILLIAMS have been elected vicechairmen of the Automobile Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Williams is director of research for the Shell concern in this country. From 1923-30 he was a research engineer on the staff of the first co-operative research association formed for the motor industry. This later became the research department of the Institution of Automobile Engineers, of which Dr. Williams became director of research in 1934. He was responsible for the acquisition of the laboratories at Brentford. Mr. Pilkington is a director and chief engineer of Leyland Motors, Ltd.
