rURTHER limits on waiting in London were forecast on Tuesday by Mr. J. Boyd-Carpenter, Minister of Transport. He said that it would be his duty to impose firm measures of restriction in certain areas. He would submit suggestions to Parliament. If traffic were to be kept moving in London, it was necessary to restrict the right to wait, he said.
It is expected that new measures to deaf with offenders will be introduced in a Road Traffic Bill to be submitted to the next session of Parliament.

ANOTHER FIVE YEARS FOR HASTINGS TRAMWAYS TUESDAY'S meeting of Hastings I Town Council decided not to exercise an option to purchase any part of the Hastings Tramways Co. Recently, Bexhill decided not to buy the portion of the undertaking that lies within its boundaries, which left Hastings Corporation with the opportunity of acquiring the whole of the undertaking. Another option to purchase will arise in 1959.
POLICE PAY DRIVER'S COSTS
PLYMOUTHI magistrates last week awarded costs against the police when a bus driver was prosecuted under a regulation found not to be in force at the time of the alleged offence. He was accusedof failing to give precedence to pedestrians at a zebra crossing on October 1.
• The defence was that the summons alleged a contravention of Regulation 4 of the Pedestrian Crossings (General) Regulations, 1951. These Regulations had been amended early this year.

DEATH OF MR. S. C. WELLS TRAFFIC manager of East Yorkshire Motor Services from 1930-1952, Mr. Stanley C. Wells died last Sunday at the age of 53. He joined the company in 1926 after being with United Automobile Services, Ltd.
