MR. J. F SOUHAMI has been appointed manager of Stramit Boards. Ltd., Stowmarket, Suffolk.
MR, J. COURTNEY, M I. M M.INST.T., chief engineer of the Ulster Transport Authority, has been elected to the committee of the Belfast Association of Engineers.
MR. H. HATTERSLEY, sales manager of Dennis Bros., Ltd., has been appointed sales director. Before joining that company he controlled the sales activities of Karrier Motors, Ltd.
Ma. S. J. L. HARDIE has relinquished the chairmanship of Sentinel (Shrewsbury), Ltd., and will be succeeded by MR. E. CARNEGIE, a new director. MR. W. P. WRATHALL has resigned his dircctorship.
Ma. F. DOWLES. who recently resigned from the board of Lawson Piggott Motors, Ltd., has joined Carmo (1929), Ltd., as general manager of the Vauxhall Centre at St. Johns Wood, London, N.W.8 MR. E. G. BROWN has resigned from the chairmanship of E. G. Brown and Co., Ltd., on account of ill-health, and has been succeeded by Ma. J. D. KYLE, deputy chairman. Mr. Brown will continue to serve as a director.
MR. WALTER A. HAZLETT, managing director of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., is now in the U.S.A., where he is studying post-war developments in tyre production. He is also visiting Canada.
MAJOR-GENERAL R. K. Ross, C.B., D.S.O., M.C., has, for personal reasons, resigned the position of director of the British Road Federation. "The Commercial Motor" understands that, for the time being, the post will not be filled. A LD. ROWLAND WINN, head of Rowland Winn, Ltd., is to retire from public life next May after 28 years' service on Leeds City Council.
Ma. G. Wu-SON, export manager of the India Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., is making an extensive tour of India, Pakistan and Ceylon. In Pakistan he will inaugaurate a new subsidiary, the India Tyre and Rubber Co. (Pakistan), Ltd., which will market India tyres.
MR. J. McHucti, assistant to the chief engineer of Leyland Motors, Ltd., has been appointed chief engineer of Leyland Motors (Canada), Ltd., and sailed on Tuesday to take up his new post at Malton, Ontario. He •joined Leyland Motors, Ltd., some 20 years ago.
MR. P. J. DALMAHOY and MR G. I. MORRIS have been appointed UnderSecretaries of the Ministry of Transport. With the approval cd the Prime Minister, Mr. Dalmahoy will, as from January 1 next, succeed MR. S. A. BAILEY, C.B., M.13.E., as principal establishment and organization officer.
MR. M. E. JOHNSON, A.M.I.MEcii-E-, director of Feeny and Johnson, Ltd., has returned to duty after a long illness. He is the inventor and patentee of the F. and J. hand control for legless drivers, which is being fitted to cars supplied by the Government to certain disabled people.
MR. GERALD NOWELL, director and general manager of South Midland Motor Services, Ltd., is going to Norway, Sweden and Denmark at the end of this month to meet travel agents in Scandinavia. During the past summer the company carried nearly 3,000 passengers on its coach tours of Oxford, which were particularly popular with visitors from Scandinavia.
