A Brief Resume of the Chief Items of Interest on the Stands of Tyre Manufacturers THERE is a wealth of interest to all operators and intending operators en the 16 stands on which are exhibited tyres and allied products. Few items in operating costs are so important as that ander the heading of tyres. Not only is the visitor interested in this type of product, in regard to future purchases, but he call also consult the various companies' experts on the stands, who can give him valuable advice which will materially reduce 'costs of this nature when they happen to be excessive.

-Amongst the wide range of tyres marketed by the Avon India Rtibber Co., Ltd., are giant pneumatics, an entirely new range of roadster covers with a buttressed tread, chevron-grooved tractor covers and Tali0,118 patterns of aircushion, solid and fire-engine tyre.

Bergougnan Tyre Co. is showing various sizes of standard, dissymmetrical, deep-resilient and giant solid tyre..

In addition to British Goodrich pneumatic tyres and giant pneumatics, there are solid tyres of the same make and those soldunder the name of Wood Milne. Tyre accessories also form an appreciable part of the British 'Goadtick company's exhibit.

J. W. and T. Connolly, Ltd., is making a display to trade visitors of a wide variety of its products. These include Step mats, Boor mats, rubber sheet, radiator hose, washing hose, check straps for doors, rubber buffers, aie-cushion tyres, bumpers and wheels.

Giant pneumatics, high-nressure and law-pressure tyres, cushion and solid equipment, as well as industrial-truck tyres and a comprehensive range of wheels is staged by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. A complete selection of accessories made by this well-known company is also on view. ,

One of the features of interest on the stand of Englebert Tyres, Ltd.., is tlie new pattern of tread used for certain sires or pneumatic equipment. It should be noted that the giant pneumatic tyre made by this companyhas just been approved by Scotland Yard.

As is well known, a distinctive feature of the tYres made by the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. (1622), Ltd., is theefact that the cords forming -the foundation, of each cover are gumdipped ; complete covers made by this process are displayed. In addition, there are moulded inner tubes, wheels .andrims, hubs for conversion purposes and range of accessories.

A demonstration is given at frequent intervals of the shock-absorbing qualities of Supertwist cord used in the construction of Goodyear tyres, which are made at Wolverhampton by the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber CO. .(Great Britain), Ltd. This material is us-ed for the constructionof' covers having the famous all-weather .tread, Air-cushion tyres form a prominmit exhibit on the stand of Ilenley'S Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. In addition, them are, of course, giant pneumatic tyros and solids.

Both types of tyre exhibited by the India l'yre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., are guaranteed against all damage for the first six months of.' their lives. Heatproof blue tubes suitable for use in these covers are shown.

The well-known Macintosh N.A.P. tyre is seen to advantage on Stand 37:7i. In company with it are examples of solid and taxicab tyres.

Amongst the solid-tyre lines shown by Pirelli, Ltd., are S-type wide singles with a non-skid tread, smaller seetiou singles and 0-type twins. Another popular exhibit is the semi-pneumatic air-core tyre, which can be fitted in place of solids; without wheel or r.'m change. Giant pneumatics are, of course, staged.

The principal exhibit of the PoPPe Rubber. and Tyra Co. is the reinforced smooth-running solid tyre, specially suitable for heavy loads ; it has. been applied to vehicles carrying up to :100 tons. A generous guarantee for 12.,006 miles, or 15 months' service, is given. Tractor pads are marketed and all types of hose and tubing are displayed.

A well-known. line of theSt. Helens Cable and Rubber Ca., Ltd.. is the Everlactic puncture-resisting tube. This, of course, is staged, together with solid tyres, concertina cushion tyres, rubber flooring and sundries.
