Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A COACEIBUILT 20-seater bus body 1-1. by E. J. Newns, Ltd., surmounts the Stewart special bus chassis. It has drop witidoivs, with eaves over them to facilitate ventilation, a sixpanelled windscreen to the driver's compartment, and nickel-plated external fittings. A destination indicator is

provided. .

Leather is used for the upholstery, and the interior woodwork is in mahogany. A black roof, blue lower portions and grey upper parts combine to give the body a dignified and handsome appearance.

A six-cylindered engine is fitted to the chassis of this bus ; the R.A.C. rating is 25.39 h.p. An extra large dynamo is installed to cope with the heavy demands for electrical current. It drives through a four-forward-speed gearbox to a fully floating rear axle, which is connected to the chassis frame by underslung springs.

The depth of the main members of the frame is no less than 71 ins. at the maximum. Four-wheel brakes are provided;, these are of the Benclirselfenergizing type.

The other exhibit takes the form of a ,4-ton chassis having a six-cylindered

engine of 36 h.p. The crankshaft is carried in four 2i-in. bearings ; these are lubricated under pressure, as are the other principal bearings. The cylinder head is east in one piece and is detachable. The inlet and exhaust manifolds are located on the near side, whilst thc dynamo, starter, oil filler and oil gauge are on the opposite side. To prevent over-driving of the engine a governor is installed.

Cooling water is circulated through the radiator by means of a pump situated directly behind the ,fan. Rubber blocks are used for the suspension of the radiator to prevent distortion of the core. Coil-and-distributor ignition is controlled by a semi-automatic device, the distributor tieing located on top of the cylinder head.

The 14-plate dry clutch has an automatic adjustment for wear, and its -release bearing is lubricated from the getirlioX, thus requiring no individual attention. A 2f-in. propeller shaft conveys the drive to a secondary gearbox, the main box being mounted unitawise with the engine. This arrangement gives ,12 forward and three reverse ratios. Two separate gear levers are used.

A Timken, overhead-worm axle is located by a pair of stout radius rods. These are necessary as the rear springs are shackled at both ends. Auxiliary overload springs are mounted above 'the main ones' and make contact with brackets on the frame.
