Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WO chassis are to be seen on the 1 Fiat stand, both of these representing new models which have only just become available for sale in Great Britain. Both have the same model of engine, but one has a frame which is arched over the driving axle, providing a low loading level which makes it suitable for passenger bodies. The engine is a 72 mm. by 103 mm. side-valye sixcylindered unit, the capacity‘1,being 2,516 c.c. It should be quite a vibrationless and smooth-running engine, for it has seven crankshaft bearings, as well as a vibration damper at the front end of the crankshaft. Circulation of the cooling water is aided by a pump, the radiator being of the demountablesection type. There are, of course, oil and air filters. The clutch is of the multiple-plate kind with asbestos lining, this and the four-speed gearbox forming a unit with the engine. An exposed propeller shaft conveys the drive to the worm-type rear axle, torque and thrust being taken by the springs. Four-wheel brake equipment is provided, the rear brakes being of a special four-shoe, overlapping type. Both models have coil ignition with semi-automatic advance, and in both eases the engines are equipped with starters. The goods model, which has a straight frame and is intended for 35-cwt. loads, is shod with 32-in. by 6-in, pneumatic tyres, the passenger model having 30-in. by 5-in. tyres with twins, on the rear wheels. The wheelbase of the goads machine is 10 ft. 6 ins., that of the passenger model being 12 ft. 2 ins. The goods model is also narrower in the trill*, this measurement being 4 ft. 9-h ins., as -compared with 5 ft. in the other chassis, and it weighs rather leas, namely, 1 ton 81 cwt., as against 1 ton 111 cwt. Visitors to the stand Amild not overlook the more important Fiat characteristics. It will be seen that both of these new chassis have economising devices in connection with the carburation, these being controlled from the dash. Those who examine the gearboxes will also notice that the constant-mesh gears are of helical pattern, a feature which should make for silence of the gearbox. A point in which both these Fiat chassis differ from most machines of the present time is that there is gravity feed from the petrol tank.
