Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALTO fewer than six examples of the 11 well-known Federal maehine are to be seen on this stand. There is one complete 32-seater all-weather coach, also one complete goods vehicle in the form of a four-cylinder 3-ton tipping lorry with steel body. The prices of these two machines are £1,375 and £895. Then there are four bare chassis.

Types 17 and T7W chassis (intended principally for bus work) and the A6 model which is shown as a coach have the six-cylindered engine of 3i-in. bore and 4i-in. stroke, their wheelbases being respectively 12 ft. 8 ins., 14 ft. 5 ins. and 16 ft. 8 ins. The type-173 3-ton chassis has a fourcylindered engine of 4-in, bore and 5-in, stroke. This is seen in two wheelbase lengths, the shorter machine with a 12-ft. 4-in, wheelbase being equipped with a steel tipping body and the longer

machine with a 13-ft. 5-in, wheelbase beingshown as a chassis. In the former ease the tyres are solids on the front, 34-in. by 7-in, rear, and in the latter case 32-in, by 6-in, pneumatics are fitted, again with twin tyres on the rear wheels.

The smallest model shown, namely, the FW model, has a four-cylinclered power unit of 3i-in. bore and 41-in. stroke and is intended for loads of 30 cwt., the chassis itself weighing 22 cwt. In this case the wheelbase is 10 ft. 3 ins, and the track 4 ft. 10 ins. The tyres are 30-in. by 5-in: pneumatics.

The Federal machines have a straightforward and businesslike layout and are known in the country of their origin by reason Of their reliability. All the models shown, with the exception of the 30-cwt. four-cylinder example, have hydraulic brakes.
