To those closely associated with the Road Transport Industry the Commercial Motor Show at Olympia is always of interest and of educational value.

It may truthfully be said that the British chassis and bodymakers have achieved and retained in the Home Market a remarkable reputation for thoroughly sound and reliable work, and, if I may be allowed to offer a suggestion, a much wider field awaits development in our Colonies and abroad. First and foremost, however, attention must be given to the special requirements of buyers.

I have watched the growth of the Industry, and particularly of the passenger-transport side, from its inception, and I am satisfied that there is still further opportunity for development and expansion which will enable the Industry to continue as one of the foremost in the country.

It may not be out of place to refer to the assistance rendered by the Press. No business can thrive without publicity and to The Commercial Maar much credit is due for the help it has rendered in the advancement of the Industry, and through its wide circulation enabled those abroad and in foreign countries to keep in touch with the Home Markets.
