“The good news is that those trucks are likely to be Euro-4 and will meet the London Low Emission Zone requirements that will come into force in 2012. We’re seeing a noticeable geographical pull so far as Euro-4 rigids are concerned, with all of the London dealers I deal with asking me to get any that I’ve got down to them as soon as possible,” says Paul Young.
Euro-3 trucks are still in demand among operators in cities like Manchester and Liverpool, however, that in many cases may never go anywhere near London. “The great north/south divide is alive and well,” Young remarks.
