Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

with lOScania42Os SOMERSET general haulage firm RT Keedwell is expanding its fleet with the purchase of 10 new Scania tractor units.

This follows its acquisition late last year of South Wales steel haulier Ken Jones, which has bases in Newport and Port Talbot.

Keedwell already has a brick and block transport operation; this is the first time it has ventured into an area as specialised as coiled steel transport. The move expands the number of depots in the Keedwell network to 10. Stuart Keedwell, director of the 300-truck firm, says its expansion has been fuelled by the intense competition in the sector: "I think you've got to he big now or you don't survive.

"I also felt that you need to be of a certain size in order to keep the service level where it needs to be."

The new Scanias, all R420 6x2s, will be split up among the various Keedwell Group companies: Carlisle-basedAlberti;York operation K&J Logistics; and South Walesbased Ken Jones.
