summoned at Penrith (Cumberland) Maas' Court last week for failing to preserve drivers' records, said the documents were accidentally destroyed on Guy Fawkes night.

Tuer's Motors Ltd. of Morland, near Penrith, was fined £1 with 13s. expenses and £2 2s advocate's fee, after Mr. G. N. Worthington, prosecuting for the Ministry of Transport, had explained that employers had to preserve drivers' records for three months.
