The only motor-vehicle of its kind in the world

It was built on a new A.E.C. Reliance chassis, which will carry a gross weight of ?-ftons. It is the same type of chassis which carries the London double-decker bus, with the same suspension and braking systems. The engine, too, is similar—a heavy-duty diesel of tremendous power and reliability, with five forward speeds and one reverse. lubrication and tyre-pumping are automatic.

The vehicle is approximately 30 feet long, 8 feet wide and 10 feet high. The body, of extruded aluminium, was .built by Coventry Steel Caravans.

The main interior compartment is equipped and furnished so that it can be converted to a spacious lounge, an office or a dining room—with cocktail cabinet. At night, the supremely comfortable couches make beds for four adults.

In addition, there is a fitted kitchen containing an electric refrigerator, an Ascot water-heater and a Calor gas cooker.

Other separate compartments are a shower locker, wash-cabin and flush toilet. Water pressure is maintained by electric pumps.

Oil-fired equipment supplies warm-air central heating. Ventilation is provided by electric Expelaire units.

The vehicle has been designed and equipped to afford not only comfort in all conditions but a high degree of independence

This unique mobile dwelling was made to the requirements of its present owner in 1963 and cost over £10,000. It is luxuriously appointed and incorporates every refinement to enable a small family or a group of four adults to live in a highly civilised manner, in virtually any part of the world, at any time of the year. It includes a separate cabin for a chauffeur.

and self-sufficiency. The fuel tanks are long-range; the storage capacity is ample; there is plenty of spare power in the engine and load-bearing capacity on the chassis; moreover, the vehicle has its own generating plant and battery:charging system.
