MERRYWEATHER FOR LONDON: A Merry weather 100-ft. hydraulic turntable ladder has been ordered by London Fire Brigade.
BIG LEYLAND ORDERS: Orders worth over £3,000,000 were received by the Leyland Motors Group last week. Included in the total is a contract for 250 buses for Israel, an order froth Liverpool Corporation for 200 buses and orders worth £1Am..from various passenger and commercial vehicle operators. The contract from Israel is for 225 Royal Tiger Worldmaster chassis and 25 Lion rearengincd bus and coach chassis. Liverpool Corporation have ordered 200 rear-engined Atlantean double-deckers which are to have fully automatic gearboxes and specially designed front entrances. 1-IVL ORK. : B.R.S. have ordered live
more York semi-trailers. These will be 12-ton low-loaders each fitted with a 4-ion Thompson hand winch.
TIGER CUBS IN JERSEY: Jersey Motor Transport Co., Ltd.. have taken delivery of the last of five Leyland Tiger Cub underfloor-engined sing-le deckers. The buses have been shortened by 2 ft. 6 in. to comply with the island's regulations, and front entrance, 40-seater bodies were built by Massey Bros. (Pemberton), Ltd.. Wigan.
MORE ATLANTEANS FOR P.M.T.: Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., have ordered a further 15 Leyland /Wantons worth £55.000. P.M.T. already operate 90 Atlanteans.
