Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Transport has been given a final warning about its vehicle maintenance by North Western Licensing Authority Martin Albu. The company holds a licence for 36 vehicles and 40 trailers. Nine prohibition notices have been issued since last March.

Licence revoked • Bargoed-based Colin Horton, trading as C Horton Transport, had his five-vehicle national licence revoked when he failed to appear at a disciplinary inquiry before South Wales Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh.

Case adjourned • Bradford-based Connection Freight and 12 of its drivers have appeared before Bradford magistrates charged with a series of drivers' hours and tachograph offences. The case was adjourned until 17 March.

Vehicle movements • Market Harborough-based Badger Brothers has been granted a new national licence for eight vehicles and 12 trailers, subject to an agreed condition governing vehicle movement times. The application had been opposed by the district council and neighbouring residents.

Unfair dismissal • John Penton Transport has been ordered to pay £369.95 compensation to its former transport manager George Coombs for unfair dismissal. He was sacked for refusing to undertake a long-distance load in an emergency. A Birmingham industrial tribunal concluded, however, that Coombs was 50% to blame.
