Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

As from June, two basic vehicles will be offered based on the 281 and 381 with the only major difference being the engine specification.

Designated the 20.321 FVLT and the 20.281 FVLT, the 6x2 chassis are powered by the MAN D2566MK engine which is turbocharged and charge-cooled to produce 234 and 206kW (315 and 276bh p) respectively.

The outer axle spread of the MAN is 3.6m (1 ift 10in) with a bogie spread of 1.3m (4ft 3in) while the provisional kerb weight for the right-hand drive versions in sleeper cab form is 7.33 tonnes (7tons 4cwts).

The 20.321 has a design gcw of 50.8 tonnes compared with the 44 tonnes of the 20.281 although both will obviously be limited to 38 tonnes under Construction and Use as from 1 May.

The twin steer concept has been used for some time by the MAN group; first in 1969 with the Bussing VS2052 and then with the MAN 20.320FVS in 1971.

Parabolic springs are used for the front axle whereas full air suspension is featured on both the drive axle and the second steering axle.

The 11-tonne rear axle is plated at 10.5 tonnes for UK use with 6.5 and 6.25 tonnes being the equivalent weights for the first and second axles respectively.

This combination gives a total operating gvw of 20.33 tonnes for the 6x2 tractive unit.
