THE DEPARTMENT of Transport has produced a leaflet to give guidance on the revised procedures for issuing Ministry plates and plating certificates that will come into effect on April 1, as goods vehicle national type approval comes fully into force.
The leaflet (VG3) is available, free of charge, from Local Vehicle Licensing Offices, hgv testing stations or from the Department of Transport, Publicity Store, Building 3, Government Buildings, Victoria Road, South Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 ONX.
From April 1, it will not be illegal to first licence a goods vehicle unless it has been type approved or sell or use vehicles that are not type approved.
