LORRY TRAFFIC through Dover is continuing to rise, with accompanied lorry traffic up by over 16 per cent in January.
Compared with the same month last year, the number of road haulage units (a tractive unit and semi-trailer count as two units) rose by 16.26 per cent on the same month last year, from 43,463 to 50,528.
Other ro-ro freight rose by 6.17 per cent, from 9,113 to 9,675 units, and the tonnage of cargo handled rose by 14.44 per cent to 653,023.
