Assault S.O.S. for Buses: Sunderland ('orOration Transport is to equip each of its buses with an audible warning system so that an alarm can be sounded should conductors be assaulted on late night runs. This is part of the department's campaign to protect conductors from such assault; the transport committee has also approved a scheme to provide compensation for h nsmen injured on duty.
London's 1965 Routemaster Allocation: the London Transport Board has recently decided on the allocation of vehicle types for the 300 Routemaster buses and coaches scheduled for delivery during 1965. Only 57 of these will be to the former standard 64-seat bus pattern a majority of 200 will he 30-ft. 72-seater buses, the balance being made up by the 43 30-ft. Green Line Routemuster coaches already announced.
