This Machine has now run nearly 400,000 miles, which, taking into account the arduous work upon which it has been almost continuously engaged, is a fine achievement. Recently the vehicle has been engaged on the seasonal eollection of sugar beet from farms in the Melton area. Three men travel with the machine for loading and unloading pun: ' poses, although for the former work additional labour is sometimes available at the farms. .

By using an elevator of the type shown in the accompanying picture, the work of loading both lorry and trailer is compressed into about 1k hours: The elevator is driven by a 2 h,p. petrol engine.'
