The C.M.D.A. South Wales Division is pursuing a practical policy of assisting road operators.
A schedule of agreed prices for private-hire work has been arranged among passenger operators in the Swansea area. Progress has been made towards extending this scale to other areas in South Wales and meetings have already been held at Neath. During the next few weeks others will take place at Llanelty, Newport, Caadiff and Tredegar.
This week the divisional headquarters have been transferred to larger premises at Road Transport House, 8, St. Andrew's Place, Cardiff, where, in future, the divisional and committee meetings will be held.
Mr. Clifford Thomas, divisional secretary, informs The Commercial Motor that the present membership of the goods-vehicle section of the division comprises 90 per cent. of Aand Blicence holders and 10 per cent. C-licensees.
New Exeter A.R.O. Committee. .
The following committee has been elected for the Exeter and Exmouth Sub-area of A.R.O. —Messrs. W. E. Crook, W. E. Knight, F. Cullen, T. E. Gates, A. F. Gates and N. M. Manson.
C.M.U.A. Elects Boston Officials.
At a recent meeting of the C.M.U.A. Boston Sub-area, the following officials were elected :—Mr. T. Bates, chairman; Mr. S. T. Belton, vice-chairman; committee, Messrs. G. Kime, T. V. Dabbs, F. J. Palmer, C. L. Bates and F. Battram, Mr. E. Caton has been appointed hon. secretary of the C.M.U.A. Grays area.
