Vehicle Observer Corps for South Wales, with John Evans (Transport) Ltd, of Newport, acting as Corps leader.
Details of any vehicle or trailer theft are passed immediately from the police operations room to Mr Evans, and are then phoned on to other RHA members via a chain message system.
Each haulage firm contacted gives details of the theft to its drivers who are asked to keep a look-out for the stolen vehicle. If sighted, drivers are asked to contact the police immediately.
