Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS ORGANISER of this and every previous Tipcon, I was most disappointed to note the negative comments which you have chosen to make in your Editorial of May 22.

The principle on which Tipcon is founded is the promotion and propagation of the most contemporary, best informed, and most powerful views concerned with industry in Britain today. The standing ovation given to Edward Heath and the incisive presentation given by Sir Monty Finneston are wholly sufficient evidence that the Tipcon organisers achieved this aim this year.

You seek to contrast our event with presentations by Eldon Griffiths and Marcus Fox, both supremely accomplished Members of Parliament but not, I would suggest, of the same rank of political achievement as either of our Tipcon speakers.

While it is open to event organisers to choose the speakers they want, I am sure those delegates present at Tipcon would much prefer the voice of authority from a Prime Minister and the chairman of a key nationalised industry to speakers who have not' experienced the real heat of high office. It is the ambition of the Tip Committee to involve speake of an ever higher calibre and suggestions from yourself as who these speakers might be will always be welcome.

Incidentally, Marcus Fox — excellent speaker — addresse the delegates at a Tipping Convention several years agc W. M. FARNORTH,
