LONDON TRANSPORT's Harrow Weald garage was victorious at the annual Southend Historic Transport Rally last weekend when its immaculate AEC Routemaster won the award for the best pre-1980 public service vehicle, and for the best vehicle in the rally.
Runner up in this class was Hedingham and District Omnibuses with a 1975 Willowbrookbodied Leyland Leopard bus. This operator also took the award for the best post-1980 psv with a three-month old Plaxton Bustler bodied Leopard bus.
