There are both batteryand petrol-engine driven versions of the Propermat industrial brush/ suction floor sweeper introduced by Ameise (Great Britain).

It is said that while one man can sweep manually 250/350 sq yd in an flour the Propermat can cover 3.500 sq yd. The unit has a pair of side wheels in front of the sweeping brush and castors at the rear. A side sweeping brush moves dirt into the path of the main, 26.75in. wide brush making total sweeping width 37.35in.

Maximum sweeping speed of the Propermat is 2.75 mph and the operator either walks behind or sits on a trailing seat. All operating controls are within easy reach, the control levers for forward and reverse travel being on the guiding handle.
