NORTH Western Licensing Authority Martin Albu has renewed the two-vehicle restricted licence held by Alec, Stanley and Eric Ashworth, trading as Ash Builders, despite evidence from a vehicle examiner about an immediate prohibition notice in respect of their one vehicle in possession.

Evidence was given by the vehicle examiner that he had issued an immediate prohibition for two items during a maintenance investigation last November. The firm did not appear to have any regular maintenance system at that time. However, he had visited the firm since then and it now had a maintenance contract with a reputable repairer.

Stanley Ashworth said that though they only had one vehicle in possession, they still wanted a licence for two vehicles in case business increased. The vehicle, which did not do a high mileage, was inspected every three months.
