• A new network of commercial services introduced by Rennies of Dunfermline in April led to such chaos that they ceased to operate after only nine days.
The company appeared before Scottish Traffic Commissioner Keith Waterworth to explain failures to operate, and why the services had been withdrawn without giving the statutory 42 days' notice.
Waterworth imposed a condition prohibiting Rennies from operating more than 22 registered services with effect from 14 August, and reserved decision on whether or not the company is of sufficient financial standing to justify renewing its PSV licence in respect of 55 vehicles, a decrease of 45 vehicles over its previous licence.
