• Two Birmingham transport companies running complementary services have joined forces to create a -Midlands transport and handling business with a turnover in excess of .22m.

Called Contact EFT, it is run by Contact Transport Services and Elmdon Freight Terminal.

Contact EFT runs 50 vehicles, from vans to artics and its services include nightly runs in Manchester and the East Midlands, as well as Heathrow. "We plan to develop the London Heathrow service," says contact managing director Paul Fox. We do about three 12m loads at the moment. We aim to become the major trunking operator out of the Birmingham area, if we aren't already."
