• Renault is bidding .454m to take total control of Mack Trucks, the troubled US pro ducer in which it already holds a 44.5% share.
Mack has forecast a net loss of around £50m for the first half of 1990, and a net loss of around Man for the year.
Industry analysts suggest Renault's acquisition of Mack could pave the way for a merger between Mack and Volvo's American truck interests as part of Renault and Volvo's planned alliance (CM 1-7 March).
