GERMAN seat manufacturers lsringhausen has set up a new production line to supply its 6500/515 air suspension seat for inclusion as a standard fitment in a facelifted version of DAF's 2800 model later this year.
Delivery of 12,000, which self-adjust to the driver's weight, is expected to begin this September, but will not become available on the British model until early 1981.
DAF's current total production of 2800s is running at about 5000 per annum and so must arouse some speculation about the use of the surplus 7000 seats They will possibly be provided as the co-driver seat also.
