THE NEW MOTORCRAFT Super plug now being produced by Ford at Enfield, has an insulator with a copper core electrode and is claimed to give easier starting, smoother running, longer electrode life and more efficient operation.
It is already being fitted to top models in the Cortina and Granada range but may also be fitted to Ford Transits and other vans.
The side and centre electrodes have an outer casing of a nickel chromium iron alloy which resists erosion, but the main advantage of the plug is its. resistance to -cold fouling''
which is claimed to be twice that of conventional plugs.
Motorcraft Super spark plugs are available in non-resistor form at a maximum retail price of £1.20 each or at £1.47 for the resistor plug (for radio interference suppression).
