AT its meeting in London.on Tuesday, members of the Transport Association reported that the supply of spares for vehicles off the road had improved. At the March meeting the Association took the decision that it would claim for loss of use on vehicle manufacturers who failed to supply spares in reasonable time (CM March 15), At Tuesday's meeting it was reported that the situation was now very much better. Members particularly praised Mr G. Churcher, spares distribution manager at BLMC, for his efforts.
At Tuesday's meeting Mr Elliot of Elliots Transport, Newport, Mon, reported that he had waited six weeks for two thrust washers for a David Brown gearbox.
When CM later contacted his workshop the thrust washers had become available.
