These 'four ERF dualpurpose fire tenders are part of a £250,000 order for the company from the GLC for the London Fire Brigade. The total order is for 14 units, which follows a similar order for 10 machines placed with ERF
last year. This news follows a recent announcement that the company's fire engine division is moving from Sandbach to new premises on the Winsford Industrial Estate, a transfer which involves 170 personnel. The move is part of the company's five-year expansion plans to double production of commercial _vehicle's. Production of fire engines should also double, to four per week as a result of the move.
