ONE OF THE features of the CV Show this year will be the number of exhibiting companies that have transformed themselves in order to beat tough economic times.

They include St Helens-based Supertrucks, which is best known for its specialist equipment and bodies aimed at the glass and window trade.

However, chairman Peter Wright, who set up the company 31 years ago, says that one of its recession-beating tactics was to broaden its product range.

It has doubled the size of its stand to 72m2 as it attends the show for the third successive time. Previously, it mainly marketed itself directly to its customers.

This year its show exhibit will be built around the new Euro-5 Citröen Relay back-to-back cab with its HDi 130 engine, which Supertrucks gives a 20.4m3 load capacity.

● The CV Show will be held at Birmingham NEC on 24-26 April.
