PW Wilcox and Sons

PW WILCOX AND Sons has been given the goahead to run nine vehicles and the same number of trailers at its Holly Farm site in Market Drayton, subject to the following undertakings: • safety inspections will be planned and never more than six weeks apart. The preventive maintenance inspection reports will be fully and properly completed and show rectiications; • there will be a nil defect daily driver reporting system. Defect reports will show rectiication; • PW Wilcox will undertake a random audit of at least three drivers a week to ensure drivers are undertaking their walk around checks correctly. The indings will be recorded and made available to staff from VOSA or the Ofice of the TC on request; • all authorised vehicles (and trailers) will have a rolling road brake test every three months, which would not include the MoT inspection. The results will be recorded; • maintenance systems, maintenance documentation and vehicle inspections will be audited every six months. Audit reports will be prepared and acted on. A copy of the report will be forwarded to the Trafic Area Ofice within 14 days of its receipt, together with the operator’s proposals for implementing its recommendations. After three successive clear audits, PW Wilcox is at liberty to seek to be released from this undertaking; • all authorised vehicles will have a thorough and effective pre-MoT inspection.

CO-OPERATIVE Retail Logistics wants to base 200 vehicles and the same number of trailers at a new operating centre at Poplar Way West, Avonmouth, Bristol.

F Sherwood and Sons

F SHERWOOD and Sons, based in Shepshed, Leicestershire, has been granted permission for 15 vehicles and the same number of trailers at the John Mould facility in Burghield, Reading.

SJ BARGH wants authorisation to have ive vehicles and three trailers at the Wm Freeman and Sons Transport yard in Sutton Coldield, and to station two vehicles at The Grove Garage in Llynclys, Oswestry.

• A PI on 16 January will discuss disciplinary action against Downie Recovery based in Larkhill, Wiltshire.

• On 17 January, a PI will look at an application from Oxfordbased Ofcluest Office Furniture.

Birmingham

• Disciplinary action against Giffords Property, based in West Bromwich, will be looked at during a PI on 16 January.

• Uttoxeter-based Mac Groundwork Contractors will make a variation at a PI on 16 January. Disciplinary action will also be on the agenda.

• A PI on 17 January will look at disciplinary action against Kens Tipper Hire based in Kington. The repute of the transport manager will also be up for consideration.

• On 19 January Birminghambased Central Meat Company will attend a PI where disciplinary action will be looked at.

• Gordon Ryan Transport, based in Shrewsbury, will appear before the TC at a PI on 20 January, at which disciplinary action will be considered.
