I WAS delighted to learn that the past chairman of the RHA, Andy Boyle, and former RHA board member Clive Warcup were appointed OBE and MBE respectively in the New Year’s Honours List.
It makes a refreshing change from the usual ct5CMO171111D002625 10/11/11 145 motley collection of celebrities, pop stars, footballers, ‘has beens’ and ‘civil’ servants who are given an honour simply for doing jobs for which they are already handsomely rewarded. By contrast, Boyle and Warcup have given many hours of their time, over many years and without charge, to further the cause of our industry, while still managing to run their own businesses very successfully.
They have also both been heavily involved in e charity work and it is gratifying to see that their efforts have at last been given the recognition they deserve.
