• Around 17 Northern Dairies truck drivers face redundancy when the Tarvin, Cheshire milk bottling plant closes this April.
The Northern Foods subsidiary blames the closure on the public's shift from having doorstep deliveries of bottled milk to buying milk in cartons at supermarkets.
Northern Dairies hopes to relocate around 10 of the 27 drivers who currently distribute milk from the Cheshire dairy to wholesalers in Cheshire and north Staffordshire using Dale Farm liveried trucks.
The Tarvin site's production will transfer to dairies at Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire, Liverpool and Colwyn Bay, Clwyd.
